Bru Dogs move into Finals

Bru Dogs win the first game of the second round over MFA 2.0. As we head into the winter season LA Hoopz post season kept sizzling. The first game was one that did not disappoint given that a total of 10 players participated.

Ask what distractions are in SoCal? Lamar Odom got married to a Kardashian. 49ers are back to winning. USC football is doing well again. San Diego Chargers have a new mini-RB in Darren Sproles. And even the Hollywood Bowl is rocking this late in the season.

All this did not distract the modern day Spurs from defeated MFA 2.0 by four points. Leading the way for the Bru Dogs was newcomer Justin Waters with 25 pts and ‘big man’ Andrew Schmoller added 20-16 in the victory.

There wasn’t much the undersized MFA 2.0 could do and Chris Anderson provided much of the offensive scoring. Anderson game high 35 points is a post season high in a losing effort. Also adding offensive points was Junior Benitez with 16 points and 8 rebounds.

Both teams fought the fatigue despite the fast pace run & gun style found in LA Hoopz. The Bru Dogs had too much experience and tact to succume to the youthful legs and head into the Finals against the surprise team, Give It To You Later.

The Hoopz Finals will be a entertaining contest since both teams had to overcame obstacles to become the last two standing. Bru Dogs versus GITYL will be a classic in Hoopz history.

Will the modern day Spurs defeat the one man wrecking crew? Will the hard nosed offense be to much for the slow paced game?

Check ‘em out this Sunday at 4pm. This is a best of three series where *one game* will be played and the following Sunday back-to-back games like the Lakers Championships.
