GITYL continues to win heading into the Finals

October 7th, 2009 by Dr Hoopz

GITYL continues to win heading into the Finals

*Updated: 10-8-09 [see below]*

A classic contest between the only undefeated team and a team on the rise. If the heading was not so clear the winner would not be evident if the game was not played. Much like the Patriots went down in the 2008  Super Bowl versus the Giants, but only this one was in the second round.

Barely winning the final game of the season one would have seen this coming. Falling behind early Usual Suspects never really recovered from their erratic play. Plagued by foul trouble, poor shooting, turnovers and easy transition baskets GITYL capitalized and won 47 – 44 in overtime.

Carlyle Holiday last second lay-in as time expired to send the game into overtime was the only bright spot. Holiday finished with season lows in points and rebounds with four in each category.

Mr. Double-Double continue to do what he does registering 18-13 in the victory. Teammate Carusso was just as good in the open floor adding 12-10 in their first trip to the Finals.

Look for GITYL to use their youth and speed against the bigger, more experienced Bru Dogs. Evenly matched? We’ll see Sunday at 4pm where teams play *one game* and the following Sunday two games for the best of three series.

Will GITYL finish better than they started? Will the power overcome the speed in two games? These are questions not easily answered until the tip-off in LA Hoopz Finals.

Show some love tonight and catch the Lakers in Anahiem tonight versus the Warriors. Preseason in full-force for a repeat.

Winter season kicks off on the November 15, 2009. Sign up today!!

LEAGUE NOTES: All players be sure to arrive early prior to the tip-off to prevent delay. A technical foul will be assessed to the tardy team and play will commence shortly after. Playerz and Fanz be sure to keep the facility clean for our next event. For questions or concerns see your nearest Hoopz Staff member.
