Hot shooting by Ve-nice, keep Bru Dogs winless

Hot shooting by Ve-nice, keep Bru Dogs winless

Ve-nice and crew didn’t need help from mother nature in shooting the lights out. Ready for play after the delay, Johny Myers handed the division leaders from last season their third defeat heading into the holdiay break.

Falling behind early versus the new comers to the league, Ve-nice never looked challenged on their way to a 67 – 57 victory over the Bru Dogs.

The Bru Dogs are now 0 – 3; with losses coming from MFA 3.0, Ve-nice and No Mercy. Apparently the Bru Dogs are in ‘a rebuilding phase’ with key personnel gone from the previous season. New additions Bobby Elamratchanee, Eric Rohwer and Bobby Moore provided key baskets down the stretch but the inexperience wasn’t enough to overcome Kyle Guillory 33 points, 14 rebounds and perfect 5 – 5 from the line.

Team captain David Rogue went to town late in the game, dropping 5 consecutive dimes to Kyle and Johny Myers. Forward, John Myers deadly shooting was second in individual scoring with 11 points and 2 rebounds.

As the Bru Dogs drew within five points late in the game, John Bernthal picked up a late foul that sent him to the bench. Guillory began picking up the slack, converting the next 6 of 10 buckets for Ve-nice.

Marc Doche chipped in with 11 points and four rebounds against strong defense by John Bernthal. Doche hit a pair of successful three point shots and rookie Bobby Elamratchanee added 16 points and 8 – 9 from the line.

Prior to tip off, the Bru Dogs where asked how are you guys going to prevent starting 0 – 3 to start the season?

Will Vudmaska –  ”We are the Cinderellas this season.”
Dr. Hoopz – “How so are you the Cinderellas this season?”
Will Vudmaska – “We lost a few players and now we’re rebuilding”

Andrew Schmoller chimes in …  ”kinda hard when you lose in the Championship game, to be the Cinderella”….

Dr. Hoopz – ‘good luck on building that Cinderella character.”

LEAGUE NOTES: All players be sure to arrive early prior to the tip-off to prevent delay. A technical foul will be assessed to the tardy team and play will commence shortly after. Playerz and Fanz be sure to keep the facility clean for our next event. For questions or concerns see your nearest Hoopz Staff member.
