Blazin’ Aces burn Hoop Dreams in route

Blazin’ Aces began by using a different starting five which proved to be too much for Hoop Dreams. Starters included Coach, Anderson, Jenkins, Brown and B. Benitez in the 59 – 31 win.

Leading the way for the Blazin’ Aces was Anthony Jenkins 18 points and 9 rebounds. Jenkins began the game knocking down back-to-back shots and never looked back. Coach provided the defensive leadership needed and Brown found his stroke. Dante Brown finished with 9 points and 13 rebounds.

Hoop Dreams continues to make strides of improvement despite players consistency to show. New comer Mike Thompson added a defensive presence in the post, alongside Alexi Waul.

Thompson finished the evening with 5 points, 4 rebounds and a couple of blocks in the loss. Joseph Tucker has continued to struggle this season only making 8 total 3PT shots from downtown. Tucker finished with a season low two points, two rebounds and two assists.

Leading Hoop Dreams in scoring was André Johnson with 17 points as the only player in double figures.

Lacking the experience and size Hoop Dreams will continue to have a games like these. Team captain, Joseph Tucker must have something in store as the division head into the playoffs next month.
