Ve-nice start slow, outscore Unknowns late to win

Kyle Guillory has taken the post and made it his home. Missed shots, offensive rebounds, put-backs, blocks, you name it and KG get’s it done.

Kevin Hornesby and William McFadden, Unknowns forwards, both had to contain KG off the boards late in the game. Early on Hornesby was dialing in from all angels; hit a three, a driving lay-in and a put back to put the Unknowns up by 10 points with only five elapsed minutes.

After a quick Ve-nice timeout and a injury to Scott Cochran, the team caught stride and made it close the remaining mintues of the first half.

Guillory finished with 37 points and the hot shooting Cochran chipped in with 12 points. Playing with only five players, André Johnson added 20 points and stellar defense.

Adam Baker playing point guard had timely turnovers late to help Ve-nice overcome the deficit. Baker finished with only nine points and played without team enforcer Christian Taylor, for a second straight game.

Heading into the final stretch the Unknowns will be a team to reckoned with giving their size and depth. Taylor and McFadden give them a solid counter to any front court.

Ve-nice has resurfaced and now has taken teams by storm. Since losing their opening game, the regular nucleus has begun to take form.

LEAGUE NOTES: All players be sure to arrive early prior to the tip-off to prevent delay. A technical foul will be assessed to the tardy team and play will commence shortly after.
