DE-TROIT! easily handles Bru Dogs in debut

Playing to the tune of NBA on NBC sounds, Drey Thomas and company handed the Bru Dogs a crushing loss winning by 19 points, 80 – 61.

DE-TROIT! came out firing on all cylinders as Chris Smith hit four first half treys to take a 41 – 23 lead after the first twenty minutes.

Will Vudmuska answered with his own long range barrage chipping in with 11 points in the first half.

Despite the size advantage inside the Bru Dogs failed to attack the low post with Andrew Schmoller missing this game.

Replacement post players for the Bru Dogs were reluctant on the offensive end but challenged Drey Thomas and Alexi Waul. Offensively Waul was absent but Thomas picked up the slacked and finished with 30 points and 8 rebounds in the victory.

The speed and quickness of DE-TROIT! was evident over the course of the contest as Andre Johnson found the streaking Chris Smith on multiple occasions.

Gary Harrington and Johnson provided a solid counter to the thin backcourt of the Bru Dogs.

The Bru Dogs are a solid and chemistry driven team.  Look for the Bru Dogs to make noise when it counts most over the summer season.

DE-TROIT! will have to continue to work on the boards against the larger opponents as the upcoming schedule includes possible matchups with the HOV, Usual Suspects and No Mercy.
