Hustle pays off, MFA 4.0 holds off Armada in a feisty contest

Sean Davis picked up where he left off last week scoring at will versus the Armada defense.

Adding to the potent offense was new comer Jared Mast, controlling the paint and gobbling every rebound.

The Spaniard Armada made up in hustle what they lacked on the offensive end. Loss balls, offensive rebounding, quick penetration and getting their knees dirty was all part of their game plan.

The Free Agents out rebounded the Armada 23 – 16 to finish the game but it was the hustle that made the game appear closer in retrospect.

The Aramada in transition, a team on the rise

Leading scorer for the Armada was Zach Ellis 11 points, only Spaniard in double figures.

Chipping in for the Armada backcourt was Seth Mumy and Jesse Tyler nine points apiece.

Early in the second half, Tyler hit a triple to bring the game below double digits. However, this was as close as the contest came for both squads.

Rookie Max Ulanar hit 3 of 4 free throws and a triple to finish with six points, two rebounds and three assists in the victory.

Free Agents found a way to win, after the beating from No Mercy, in week two of the summer season.

After the game, Jesse Tyler replied, “we’re just warming up we know what we are doing.�

Watch out, elite squad the rookies of the summer league are coming your way.
