Champs battle, No Mercy pounds GITYL to victory

No Mercy – 91

Give It To You Later – 51

Final

Champs battle, No Mercy pounds GITYL to victory

The much anticipated matchup between the last two champions was epic as No Mercy came out firing on all cylinders. No Mercy hit five from behind the arc and held a ten point advantage early.

Dan Zinchuck finally hit a bucket with ten minutes into the first half.

Out of characteristic was the GITYL defense which normally suffocates teams to death. On this night it was the defense of No Mercy that proved to be the difference.

Down by twenty points, Kenny Jones put the exclamation point on the first half with a thunderous two handed dunk.

Cory Aycock, Bryan Lockwood and Eze Burts played superb in the first half holding the inaugural summer champs to only 19 first half points.

Halftime Score:   No Mercy – 47

GITYL – 19

Halftime Leaders: Bryan Lockwood – 14 points

Vince Carusso – 8 points

Second half was much the same as Gene Shepherd and Kenny Jones hooked-up for the alley hoop in transition.

The game was pretty much over after halftime as No Mercy imposed their will on both ends of the floor.

Cory Aycock chipped in with eight points in the victory.

The reliable Vincent Carusso led GITYL with 20 points and five rebounds. The only bright spot came from Jace Davis who finished with 12 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

GITYL knows exactly what the season means and it is the playoffs that matter most. The inaugural season champs will remember this thumping when it matters most.

Until the champs meet again, No Mercy leads 1 – 0 in the battle.

Totally classless. You do realize this is a rec league right? We all step between the lines and give it our all, that doesn’t deserve your respect? We all love this game, show respect to the game.

LOL, 1st of all calm down. Anybody that’s knows me knows that I like to joke around, this little bit of trash talk is to add a little more fire to the games. So didn’t mean to ruffle your feathers. So remember the a$$ kickin we just gave yall and if we play again you got another one comin for callin me classless and tellin me to grow up.. Lol

Calm down? Trust me, childish behavior doesn’t get me heated. It’s a rec league, it’s you who should calm down w/ all the smack. But hey, whatever makes you feel good about yourself. If running around a rec league- boasting and putting down fellow competitors makes you feel good about yourself maybe you should grow up.

This is Hilarious! By the way; championships are not won in the begining of the year but at the end. We’ll be ready for the rematch; when we’ll “Give it to you Later”.

“cryin a$$”? Don’t get heated son. Running around a recreational b-ball league played in the BOYS and GIRLS Club- gloating and putting people down is really classless. BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB man… they probably win and lose w/ more grace and respect for their competitors then you.
