The General comes to life, earn Bru Dogs first win of season

Injury Report:  Marc Doche – Knee, returned probable

Bryon Bloomquist arrived on a mission to set the tone early versus the Bru Dogs scoring 11 points in six minutes into the first half.

Holding it down for the Dogs was new comer #42 Adam Poe with eight points.

Playing a solid 2-3 zone was the key in helping keep the score tight 20 – 30, Free Agents 5.0, following a timeout early.

Bru Dogs managed to cut the lead to seven with steals and offensive rebounding with a halftime score of 37 – 30, MFA5.0. Tony Ngo penetration and suffocating defense on Brian Gallino was key in the first half comeback.

Halftime leaders:   Byron Bloomquist – 17 pts, 5 rebs

Adam Poe – 14 pts, 5 rebs

Steals, turnovers and fouls defined the start to the second half.

Bloomquist control the paint early and often with put backs and uncontested lay-ups.

Chris Quin hit multiple three’s to cut the Free Agents lead to six points with five minutes remaining in the ball game.

Less than four minutes left in the second half the Bru Dogs trim the lead to 51 – 55.

Brian Gallino fouled on the fastbreak made one of two at the foul line.

Quin fouled on the three point attempt, made one of three to bring the deficit to 52 – 56.

Tony Ngo hits a three with 1:49, down by one point, 55 – 56 MFA 5.0.

Foul and coming up with the big rebound to keep MFA 5.0 at by was Tony Ngo. Leading 58 – 56 with 14 seconds remaining and the Bru Dogs in the lead.

The Floor General, helped bring the Bru Dogs back and earn the player of the game honors.
