Warriors take it to new comers, win big sending messageWednesday, July 14th, 2010 by Dr Hoopz
Warriors take it to new comers, win big sending message BRING IT ON - 59 Warriors – 95 Funny how memory runs short as the Warriors remind the competitive divsion they’re still here. The return of Obi Ahmadi proved to be just what the doctor ordered, sending everyone back to their original positions for the 1- 2 Warriors. Warriors took advantage of the small front line of the Bring It On squad by holding them to ten (10) total team rebounds. Leading big early and clearly holding both an offensive and defensive advantage was evident in the first half for the Warriors. Leading 53 – 23 at the half, the Warriors began to push for the century mark. #42 Clayton King in Sunday’s action versus the Warriors Dabo Kabov was efficient from the arc scoring almost at will against the smaller defenders of Bring It On finishing with 34 points. The combination of Kabov and Rush is one of the strongest in the division when point guard Ahmadi is present. Ahmadi controls tempo and helps distribute the ball when it is needed most. Jordan Rush ability to attack the rim returned. In one play, Rush snatched a rebound and went back up for the two handed flush over three defenders. The size, speed, strength and overall experience was visibly overwhelming as the Warriors earn their first victory of the season. Bring It On was led by the quick and elusive Clayton King. King finished with 36 points and three rebounds in a losing effort. The Warriors are returning to form sending a message to the competitive division by thumping Bring It On by thrity plus. Three point artist, Josh Novak, finished with a subpar performance behind the arc with one made field goal. Deante Horton added 14 points and 9 rebounds for the Warriors. Free Agency Notes Maestro, team captain, began the day by dipping in the free agency pool attempting to sign a big-time player. The negotiations fell short as the GM of DE-TROIT! stepped-in, a la Pat Riley, to close the door and sign William Kieffer to a lucrative contract for the summer season. Kieffer is a big-time scorer and rebounder. Defends the post well and shows excellent leadership on the court. Key pick-up for DE-TROIT! Player of the Game Dabo Kabov – 34 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal 10 made 3PT FG, quick first step LEAGUE NOTES: All players be sure to arrive early prior to the tip-off to prevent delay. A technical foul will be assessed to the tardy team and play will commence shortly after. Playerz and Fanz be sure to keep the facility clean for our next event.
