No Mercy defeats Agents easily, to stay atop division

MFA 5.0 – 67

NO MERCY – 101

FINAL

No Mercy victory was impressive as they reach the century mark for the second time this season. No Mercy practiced experience and team play to win 101 – 67 over the rookies of the summer league MFA 5.0

The first six to seven minutes was brutally ugly for the Agents going scoreless, while No Mercy pilled on the points leading 18 – 0 before the first Agents  timeout.

Leading the way for the defending champions was team captain Gene Shepherd 29 points.

Adapting to No Mercy team chemistry, Shepherd has found his swagger which is known throughout the league.

Nicknamed, ‘the Beast’, Shepherd is finding the rim and the bottom of the net easier these days.

Stellar defense by the Free Agents in Sunday’s action

Super substitute, Cory Aycock, uses speed and court awareness to wear down opponents. Aycock finished with 24 points and game changing tough defense on the Free Agents back court.

Kenny Jones took the evening off attending the Kobe Camp in Los Angeles.

Attempting to lessen the deficit was new comer, Kerie Edmead, after missing all the first half.

Edmead superb defense and offensive leadership was evident as the No Mercy lead was brought below twenty points for much of the second half. Edmead hit multiple treys and went to the foul line almost at will.

Edmead finished as the second leading scorer with 18 points in the loss.

The game would have been worse for the Agents without the arrival of Edmead, who earns the POG honors.

Brian Gallino finished with 18 points and ten rebounds.

General Managers keep an eye open on this squad as they are stacked with potential leaders.

Prior to the start of the game the crowd was serenated with the chants of ‘We want DE-ROIT!’ by team No Mercy.

Week six game on.

Player of the Game

Kerie Edmead – 18 points, 1 rebound

Offensively talented, sweet pull-up jumper

LEAGUE NOTES: All players be sure to arrive early prior to the tip-off to prevent delay. A technical foul will be assessed to the tardy team and play will commence shortly after. Playerz and Fanz be sure to keep the facility clean for our next event. For questions or concerns see your nearest Hoopz Staff member.
