GITYL gave it to Hoop Dreams, in weekend opener

Hoop Dreams focused and determination was evident from the opening tip-off against GITYL. The strong play of Aaron Young and Dan Zinchuk proved too much for Tucker and company as Hoop Dreams fall 84 – 100.

Aaron Young was on fire in the second half, knocking down shots from all over like Larry Bird. Finding Young on the wing was like finding cash on the ground in downtown LA.

Cash it was for Young, finishing 10 – 15 from the field with 27 total points.

Attempting to be the just as lucky was Moses Davenport, matching every shot cashed in by Young. Davenport added 28 total points on 10 – 22 from the field.

 Aaron Young hit shooting to start the second half helped keep a 53 – 44 advantage.

Joseph Tucker hit multiple shots from the corner and was on fire.

GITYL in Sunday’s action against Hoop Dreams

Tucker called the offices and let message to the league. “I’m not holding back anymore, it’s on from now on out.”

Finding the stroke was spot on for Tucker as he hit a barrage of running jumpers and others to help keep Hoop Dreams a float.

Khiem Banh was instrumental in keeping the game close, scoring in double figures, chipping in 10 points and two assists in the loss.

A game that was close throughout was ultimatley dictated by both squad ability to make the defensive stops.

GITYL made the necessary stops and found the open man to close the game.

Hoop Dreams missed defensive assignments that resulted in easy lay ups and uncontested attempts for GITYL.

Dan Zinchuk added 33 points and 14 rebounds in the victory.

John Wehage finished the game with 11 points and two blocks.

Aaron Young – 27 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds
