V-Boltz win with tough defense and superb play, earn ‘dub’

Leading 34 – 30 heading into  the second half, the Armada pushed the lead to six points.

Zach Ellis continued to push the margin with quick penetration and precision passing to Jesse Tyler and Seth Mumy.

Junior Benitez was accessed multiple traveling and offensive violations.

The combination of Tyler and Ellis played strong throughout to lead the team offensively.

The leadership role of the Benitez brothers was equally as important trailing 43 – 47 with eight minutes remaining in the second half.

Bobby Gigimcomo played well in the post and the turn-around jump hook by B. Benitez was money.

V-Boltz attack the rim against the Armada

Forced into a tough shot, Seth Mumy, attempted an ill-advised air ball.

Leading by a deuce, V-Boltz amped up the defense intensity. B. Benitiez  was automatic in the post almost scoring at will against the smaller defenders of the Armada.

George Garcia made two of two at the line to increase the lead by six with ten seconds remaining.

Opposing teams beware for the Tyler and Ellis tandem.

Great chemistry and chipping in despite the loss was Zach Ellis 22 points on 9 - 15 from the field.
