BREAKING NEWS: LOS ANGELES HOOPZ | MUSCLE MILK

Due to Independence Day, there will be no games on the 4th of July weekend. Have a safe and fun Holiday and see everyone next weekend.
 
Beginning next Friday and Saturday (7/10-11) we will have Muscle Milk there as a vendor donating products to the community and players.
 
Come show your support and get product from our friend Muscle Milk as games commence for Week Three (3).

LOS ANGELES HOOPZ TEAMS WITH CARE 4 KIDZ FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

Mentorship Program for our youth development in sports.

Players/Coaches from Los Angeles Hoopz will donate time to teach the youth fundamentals of sportsmanship, integrity, perseverance, leadership and professionalism.

LOS ANGELES HOOPZ | COACHING OPPORTUNITIES | SUMMER LEAGUE

Season will begin June 19th for the LA Division at Santa Monica College. Second location is Diamond Ranch High School for the Inland Empire Division.

Coaches interested in pursuing an opportunity to earn their pass to the next level. We currently have two (2) available spots to lead elite collegiate players this upcoming summer.

Requirements include passing Eligibility exam and a background check.

Rosters are stacked with current and future professional basketball players from all levels.

COLLEGE DIVISION: SUMMER TRYOUTS (SMC PAVILION)

To All Coaches/Players/Staff,
We will have our 1st Annual Summer Tryouts this weekend held at Santa Monica College. Players interested in participating for the tryouts will begin promptly at 10 am, at the Pavilion. 
 
Tryouts schedule is listed below;
10:00 am – Intro/Shoot around
10:15 am – Fundamental(s) and Drills
11:00 am – Open Run begins
11:45 am – Open Run ends
12:00 pm – Registration for Summer League
12:15 pm – *League Mandatory Meeting begins
1:45 pm – *League Mandatory Meeting ends
 
*Review of NCAA and LAH, guidelines and policy for participation in an approved summer, sanctioned basketball league
**Inland Empire location will be released soon.

Lastly, as per NCAA requirements Coaches are required to become certified (complete education course and background check). We can help with forwarding any information and links for prior to the season tip-off. As we head down the stretch, the participating teams will be released.

LOS ANGELES HOOPZ | COLLEGE DIVISION – DISCOUNT OFFER

Open registration is only $599 for teams and $59.99 for eligible college players, official fees are $45 per game for the team. Complete registration by May 23rd.

The league is for any players living in Los Angeles or the Inland Empire, they are cordially invited to participate in our prospective Collegiate Summer League.

Teams and players missing jersey or failing to check in prior to the contest will be  a technical foul. Arrive 15 minutes prior to tip-off or earn a forfeit.

PRO AM FALL SEASON | YOUTH DIVISION 
Men’s Pro Am Division will begin September 11th, every Thursday evening, at two locations. Games will be played in Beverly Hills or Compton. Locations include Pan Pacific Park and The Gym, addresses are below. 

Only six (6) and eight (8) teams will be accepted into each Division, BH & CPT respectively. 

Game time(s) are as follows; BH (7pm), CPT (6pm). 

Youth Division begins September 14th for ages from seven (7U) to seventeen (17U). LA Hoopz Flight is now registering players. Coach’s include Dave Miller of Emerson College, James Smith of Australia, David Keller, Grant Marzette, Dr. Hoopz and Student Athlete Lab Staff. 

Youth league games will be on Sunday at The Gym in Compton commencing at 8am.

SUMMER PRO AM SEASON | PLAYOFFS 
The Playoffs are here and the players are ready for battle. No Mercy when win-less this season, after winning back-to-back titles in the Competitive Division. New season, new players and a new champion will be crowned. 
 
There are favorites, however last week’s contests between House of Vibe and O’Quinn proved that skilled dominates youth any day. HOV dominated from the opening tap, lead by Syrus Yarbough workmanship on both ends of the floor. Also leading the way was stellar play by Jesse Satterfield and returning member Scotty Cochran. 
 
Teams have been jocking all summer for the final weeks. Due to the late start we will complete the season on 9/14. The Championship game will be played in Compton at The Gym, see below for the address. Next Summer Pro Am will begin June 20th, 2015; additional details will be released shortly. 
 
As we said all season, Bring Ya Game, as the inaugural Champions GITYL (Give It To You Later) are in the hunt. Expect a larger than normal crowd for the Playoffs and Dr. Tunes to bring the latest music. 
 
Next season will begin September 11th every Thursday evening in Compton for the Pro Am Division. A complete schedule will be released for all league games throughout the week, including all men’s and youth contests in Compton.

WEEK SIX | PLAYOFF FORMAT | FALL SEASON

SALAB earns victory over O'Quinn, 88-87

Craig Stover rallies the troops in the second half, earn a big win in the Pro Am Division

Leading the push into the final stretch are four teams; HOV, 310, SALAB and O’Quinn. These are the top playoff squads heading into the games that count the most. 

The surprise of the season is literally, the student athletes of team SALAB I & II, who are looking to upset the rest of field. 

Last weekend heated contest went down to the wire, as the game was decided by one point between the two heavyweights of O’Quinn and SALAB I.
